Art Among Us
Elizabeth Morales - Artist Statement
"I’m a nature lover at heart and my art usually depicts that. For me it’s a sense of emotions, a longing for adventure, and a place not yet found. I create for myself as it’s very therapeutic, but I share my work with others in hope to stir emotion or bring a sense of connection. I’ve lived in Douglas, Arizona most of my life and have always loved creating since a young age. If I’m not making art, I can guarantee you that I’m thinking about what’s next.”

Allyson Armstrong - Artist Statement
I describe myself as a generalist, skilled at several occupations and pursuits, but proficient in few. Therefore, my creativity is based on curiosity and variety; some self-imposed concepts guide my work. Distill, make eco-friendly choices, be brave, use found objects, try unlikely combinations, relax, be spontaneous, is it done, wait, and consult others.
Dale Armstrong - Artist Statement
The world is now experiencing rapidly shifting environmental conditions due to climate change. I want to take a moment and reflect on the intrcate beauty of river ice. As the planet warms river ice may become rare. This photographic series is a snapshot of my longterm study of river ice. These works allow the viewer to explor the fine details of ice that formed during the winter of 2019 on the rivers of central Colorado. I hope this study helps to continue the conversation about climate change and how we will lose that which is at our feet today. These images are dedicated to the people who are studying and working hard to reduce the impacts of humanity on the earth.

My medium of choice is ball point pen, pencil, and colored pencils on paper. When I draw, I want to capture the spirit, make lines and colors come alive. I like drawing details, movement and creating depth with shadow and light.
Mieko Hara - Artist Statement
Surrealism and abstract elements form the foundation of my work. I combine spontaneous gestures in paint with carefully arranged collage to emphasize depth of field and the relationship between microscopic and macroscopic forms. Without any preconceived notion or image, I set elements into play until I achieve a dynamic resolution in my compositions.
